Sedbergh

Today Tess and I drove to Sedbergh in Cumbria to meet my God-daughter for lunch in a lovely cafe called The Three Hares.

On the way we stopped and Tess and I had a lovely walk the quarter of a mile down to Cotter Force.   Because of the rain yesterday the Force (waterfall) was in full flow and a splendid sight.   There were several folk watching and we had a nice chat before setting off again.   Sedbergh is about thirty miles from here and  the Force is just about half way.

I found a place in the shade to park as by now the sun was shining (at last) and together A and I walked to the cafe.   A had beef pie and I had a burger - both with chips and salad.   Lovely cafe and lovely lunch.   After a coffee we drove back and have just arrived home.   The last couple of miles were accompanied by a bleeping in my car so now I am going to settle down with my tea and read the book in an effort to find out what it was bleeping for.

Glad to see that Tess got a decent walk.
Been raining here, sometimes heavily, for the last four hours and chilly with it.

When my car bleeps it means one of 3 things: forgot to fasten my seat belt, a door is not closed properly, the handbrake is not fully released. I can't wait to hear what caused your car to bleep.

Hello Pat!
I have been away for a week and I am trying to catch up. You seem to have been busy with cats and coffees and meeting friends and I am so happy that you are finding life endurable and bright!! When our cars go bleeping it means just as Gwil say, either the belt, the door or perhaps the oil? Might be that seventh kitten hiding somewhere??!! We've had a rather gloomy summer so far. Today the sun is shining brightly, tomorrow we begin the annual Jazz Festival!! 13 years now! Blessings!!
Oh yes, I have been spammed, how does one get one of those I'm not a robot-boxes?

Nothing annoys me more than when the cars beeps at me. Usually for something quite trivial.

At least all this wretched rain provided the splendour of a waterfall looking it's best.
I do hate it when things bleep at me. At least you got home safely and I hope the bleep doesn't mean any trouble.

The infernal beeps. Mine usually are for a seat belt or a door ajar. Not had one so far that stopped my car.

I'm just watching the athletics in London, what an awful summers evening there - cold temperatures and pouring rain - so typically British.

We had a VERY hot and dry July and i was worried that August would be worse but thankfully the temps have cooled more to average... in the low to mid 80's and bearable mid 60's at night.. The rain came and more expected... I've lived so many places where it is dry i dare not complain about the rain.. let it rain! Cloudy skies are my friend ... I'll enjoy the sun more when it comes out... I hope your bleep is nothing serious Pat......Hugs! deb

Just yesterday while driving to the coast we had a warning symbol light up. My wife took it into the dealer this morning, apparently these new computerized cars tell you if the tire pressure is lower than the others.

My son thinks he knows what the bleep was. When I switched the engine on later it wasn'r there. Tess sat in the passenger seat all the way back and he thinks she might well have sat up and her seat belt warning may have been the bleep. When she lay down it would go off which would explain the intermittence of it. I go to the hairdresser and then to the Physio in the morning and then to the car wash. I shall see what happens then.

Thanks everyone.

Perhaps the car was bleeping to smother the torrent of swear words emitted by the driver.

On the other hand, I suspect your son's conclusion was spot on.

I managed to go for a run last night before the rain set in. I actually enjoy being in bed and listening to rain before I fall asleep, there is something so very cosy about it.
Your walk to the force sounds nice, and your lunch, too (no salmon...?)! Your son is probably right about the bleeping, so I hope your car won't beed any expensive repair.
